Walking to School

Teachers say that children who walk to school arrive ready for their day and concentrate better (www.bikehub.co.uk/featured-articles/cycling-to-school).

You could join a ‘walking bus’ or just meet up with your friends and neighbours and use a favourite route. (www.roadsafety.cardiff.gov.uk/to-school-safely/walking-bus)

So what are the recommended activity levels for children?

The Government says children should have 60 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity each day. This doesn’t have to be all at once! Try six 10-minute bursts spread throughout the day. (http://www.nhs.uk/Change4Life/Pages/walk-for-life.aspx)

Have a go at walking your 10,000 steps a day!
