2013/14 - Route 9 - Colum Road/Corbett Road Junction

As part of the development of Enfys, we are proposing to carry out improvements to the junction of Colum Road/Corbett Road.

The scheme includes proposals for:

  • a toucan crossing linking Museum Avenue and Corbett Road
  • a diagonal toucan crossing
  • widened footways
  • cycle access to the new shared use areas

The introduction of these measures requires changes to the existing traffic signal stages. Based on extensive modelling the preferred option requires the removal of the right turns from Corbett Road into Park Place and from Colum Road into Corbett Road.

The surveys show that the numbers of vehicles currently making these turning movements are low and the modelling has demonstrated that this proposal is unlikely to have a significant impact on traffic flows through the junction.

If you have any comments or ideas about this scheme please get in touch on before the 7th August 2013 or come and talk to us in person by the University Law Building on the 23rd July 2013 between 1:30pm and 6:30pm.

We look forward to hearing from you!
